PVP duels (beta)

Degen Duels Beta Overview

The Degen Duels Beta offers an exciting and competitive gameplay experience where players engage in strategic duels while placing bets in $DUELS tokens. The beta serves as a prelude to the final version, introducing core mechanics, smart contract integration, and blockchain-based transactions on the Base blockchain.

Gameplay Mechanics

Shooting and Dodging:
- Players select from three attack and dodge directions: left, right, or center.
- If a player correctly predicts the opponent's dodge direction, the opponent loses one life.
- Duels are fought in rounds, with the duel lasting until one player successfully hits the opponent 3 times.
Betting System:
- Players place bets in $DUELS tokens before each duel.
- The size of the bet is customizable, allowing players to wager an amount they are comfortable with.
- Winner takes all, doubling their stake after each successful duel.

Blockchain Integration

Smart Contracts: The beta version is fully integrated with smart contracts on the Base blockchain, managing bets, reward payouts, and duel results.
Transparency: All transactions, including bets and results, are processed and recorded on-chain for full transparency. Bets are never placed on backend or team wallets, etc.

Leaderboard and Player Stats

Leaderboard: Players can track their rankings in real-time, viewing their position and the top 10 players on the global leaderboard.
Duel History: The character menu provides detailed duel history and statistics on round success, allowing players to analyze their performance.

Character Selection and NFTs

Custom Characters: Players can choose a character model to represent them in duels.
Future NFT Integration: In future updates, characters will be available as NFTs, enabling players to trade and own unique avatars.

Friend System

Players can add friends and challenge them when they are online, enhancing social interactions and competitive gameplay.

Step-by-step guide

Prepare your wallet

Set up

Crypto wallets

You can use any crypto wallet that supports Base network (Metamask, Trust wallet, etc)

Download Metamask

Set up Base network

Degen Duels app will suggest you to switch network automatically.

If this doesn't happen please try to disconnect and connect once again or follow the instruction

Balance

Make sure you have enough $ETH and $DUELS balance in Base network to pay gas fee and place your bet.

Duels and gameplay (MVP)

Connect wallet

Switch to arbitrum network and sign the transaction. It's free and safe🔒 If the game doesn't load, just refresh the page and try again.

Start the duel search

Choose your bid

You can choose 1 of 3 bids for now: 0.002 / 0.008 / 0.015 $ETH And press "Find opponent" button.

Confirm transaction

After the bid amount is chosen you need to confirm the transaction to lock your bid in the game.

🔐 Your bid will be kept safely on the Degen Duels smart contract and no one (even the team) has access to players' bids.

You can withdraw your bid anytime after a 1min cooldown if you decide not to play right now.

Search

As soon as your transaction is confirmed and bid is accepted, you will be added to the matchmaking. Please just wait for an opponent.

If the search take too long, you can do to the Discord server and call for an opponent in the "find-opponent" channel.

When another player with the same bid amount is found, you both will be added to the arena and your duel starts.

Tip: take a look at the amount of online players at the game header. If there are few players feel free to invite someone to play in our official Discord.

Duel gameplay

When the duels starts you need to choose 1 of 3 directions to shoot and to evade the opponent's shot. If you guess the opponent's direction, you will hit him and take 1 of 3 lives (hearts).

❗️Keep in mind that you will lose 1 heart if you don't choose the direction and press "shoot" before the round ends. 💡Tip: After each round at the "rounds history" panel you can see your opponent's past moves to try to predict his next moves and strategy.

Game finishes when someone hit 3 times. Graw is also possible if you and your opponent made hit the 3rd time in the same round.

Duel's end

After the duel ends you will see informational message.

💡Don't forget to share your reward on twitter when you win the duel!

The game will transfer your reward automatically ⚡️ Normally it comes in a few seconds but may take little more if the network is busy. Don't worry about this.

Avatar settings (MVP)

Name

Change your game anytime in the "Settings" page:

Just press "edit" next to your name and put whatever you want (please be respectful other players. Try at least)

Image

To change youe profile image just press on youe current image and shoose the file from your device. Feel free to use your NFTs, GIFs, etc.

💡Please use files less than 0.8Mb. 1:1 ratio is preferable

Your avatar

You can choose the character (avatar) for duels. It can be changed anytime in the settings. Don't forget to save settings after choosing the right character.

The avatar doesn't have impact on your duel power, win probability, etc. It is just a cosmetic item.

Stats

Under your name and image you can find your dels stats. Analyse your accuracy, winrate, and other indicators. Also you can find your duesl history just ander the statistics:

Friends and leaderboard (MVP)

Friends

To add a friend press "Add" button in the main menu:

And put your friend's wallet address into the field and press "ADD":

After you send a request, your friend has to accept it in notifications:

Also you can add to friends anyone from leaderboard. Just copy the address and add a new friend:

You can call your friends for a duel anytime when you both are online. Choose the bid you want to play for and press the "gun" icon to send a request:
